Respite Care of San Antonio (RCSA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting, nurturing, and empowering children with special needs and complex medical conditions while strengthening their families. Located in San Antonio, RCSA operates the city’s only Developmental Childcare Center, providing high-quality early education and full-time on-site nursing care for children with disabilities. It also houses the only emergency shelter in Texas specifically designed to serve children with special needs and complex medical conditions.In addition, RCSA offers parent respite care through an evidence-based program proven to reduce caregiver stress. The organization collaborates with UT Health San Antonio and other community partners to provide comprehensive wraparound services, including medical care, parenting resources, and peer support groups. RCSA is deeply committed to reducing caregiver burnout, preventing child abuse and neglect, and empowering families.

Founded in 1987, Respite Care of San Antonio operates emergency shelters, early child education and day/night out respite for children with special needs and complex medical conditions.
